Some of My Favorite Things and Wishes Too!

Hey, Everybody!  How's it going with the decorating, shopping, wrapping, card sending, etc......?  I am plugging along.  I hope you are too!

I thought it would be fun to share with you some of the things I have come to love this season.  These are items that have enhanced my Christmas season and I wanted to spread the word along to you.  I thought I would also include some items I have discovered while shopping lately that caught me by surprise.  I am adding them to my Make Believe Christmas Wish List.  I don't really think they will be under the tree but, it's fun to dream, anyway.  Isn't that part of the fun of Christmas--to dream?

First on my list is the StarTastic 1827 Holiday Laser Light Show .  Last year my brother gave one of these projectors to my husband, Tom, and me as a Christmas gift.  I was ecstatic!  I had been wanting one all season but, for some unknown reason, Tom had given me a hard time about buying one.  Well, the projector gift was put away with all my Christmas stuff last December without being used.......until three weeks ago when it came out of Christmas storage.  At that time, as Tom discovered just how much fun the little gizmo was, he had to admit he loved it!  He loved it so much, in fact, that he purchased three more on Amazon!  Score, for me!

Now the front of our house is lit up, literally, like a Christmas tree!  It is so easy and fun you just have to try it if you like this kind of look.  Honestly, the photo does not due it justice but, you get the general idea ;).

The second item on my list is Stonewall Kitchen Blueberry Jam .  This is another product I discovered through a gift I received last Christmas.  I received this jam in a Stonewall Kitchen gift basket and once I tasted the blueberry jam I was hooked!  It has been my go-to staple this Christmas season.  I quickly pack a pb & blueberry jam sandwich to take with me while I shop and I am all set for the day.  It may not be for everyone but I love it! I am hoping there is some of this delicious stuff in my stocking on Christmas morning.  Fingers crossed!

My third favorite thing (in no particular order) is Dino's Christmas.  I love all kinds of Christmas music and we have an extensive collection of cds for the season.  We start playing Christmas songs before Thanksgiving in our house but, usually start with more sacred songs.  However, when I am in the heart of the season I love to turn on Dean Martin and listen to some of the old time "Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer" type of Christmas songs.  This album is a classic for me.  I may check out buying a new Dino record for next year!

My fourth favorite item is Battery Powered Mini String Lights

I have used these alllll over the place this year.  I especially love the timed lights.  You turn them on and forget all about them.  Those types of lights are usually more expensive, however.  But, I have loved using them in many, many of my holiday decorations as you can see below:

And finally, I would like to mention Martha Stewart's Casserole Dish.  I don't want to give you the impression that I am in the habit of baking casseroles all the time because I really am not.  However, during the holidays and at other times of the year when I do get ambitious and do make the occasional casserole, I love, love, love this serving dish.  All of the recipes I have cooked in it have turned out very well and the presentation on the table or buffet is very nice.  I especially like cooking my daughter Amanda's spinach/artichoke dip in it.  That is always a family favorite~

~Now if you don't mind indulging me, I will share my over-the-top wish items.~

While shopping for a present for one of my family members, I discovered an out-of-the-way store a few towns away from me in Townsend, Massachusetts.  The store is family owned and carries fine and quality items.  It was there that I came upon some Ugg products that peaked my interest.  I am not an over the top Ugg shopper, although I do own a pair of Uggs, but in this store I found a few products that I didn't know Ugg made.  There, I discovered some Ugg boots something like the ones below.  I thought they were pretty nice and more sophisticated than the Uggs I own and knew the quality would be superb.  I wouldn't mind finding these under the Christmas tree :).

Wish #1 Ugg Boots

Wish #1 Ugg Ladies Bathrobe
Wish #3 Cuisinart Knife Set

While in that same store, right next to the cash register, I came upon an Ugg bathrobe.  Wow, was that soft and cuddly!  I didn't know Ugg made bathrobes!  I thought about the softness of that thing all day!  It's a luxury gift, for sure, but it's pretty awesome at the same time.

Finally, my last wish item is more practical in nature but, when you've been married as long as I have sometimes it's time to upgrade some of your everyday items.  I think both of my daughters have knife sets similar to the one above and I can't get over how sharp and efficient the knives are.  It would be nice to have some new cooking tools that are quite superior in quality.

Well, there you have it--some of my favorites and some of my wishes too!  I am sure you have many of your own~  Here is to hoping that you have discovered things that are bringing you joy this season and things that you are wishing for also.  Whatever your dreams, be them material or non-material (the best kind, of course!), I hope they come true :).

Now I am off to finishing up my Christmas tasks but, you can be sure I will be playing my Christmas music and probably be making myself and pb & blueberry jam sandwich to take along with me.  When I come home I am going to sit in front of my Christmas tree and take it easy!

I hope you have some traditions of your own to guide you through this wonderful season!
