Breakfast Meeting

I wanted to share with you how easy it can be to host a breakfast meeting or gathering, whether for business or for fun.  Even with our busy schedules, it is still possible to have people over, be it at home or office, without much fuss or disruption.  There are so many resources at our disposal now, thanks to places like Costco, local grocery stores, specialty bakeries or the neighborhood deli.  It seems as though entertaining is easier than it has ever been.

Presentation is always important to anything in life and entertaining is no exception.  White dinnerware is a great option since it offers a neutral palette and can be built upon.  I have been adding to my white collection for several years now.  The pieces are from different stores and different collections but, because they are all white, everything coordinates nicely and can be interchanged.  White dinnerware is especially good for business meetings.  For events like garden club meetings or teas, you might want to use pretty china, if available.

If you feel especially fancy, you can add white linen napkins.  They will give your party an elegant feel.  If you don't want to be bothered (which is fine),  good quality paper napkins will work well also.

Color can be introduced by food and flowers.  These blueberries and strawberries add lots of color and offer a delicious and healthy addition to the menu.  The baked goods were purchased at a local grocery store but, present well and are not messy to eat, especially important at business meetings.  Homemade baked goods are great but, also time-consuming.  If you have time to bake, that, of course, would be ideal.  However, gone are the days when we have to feel guilty about such things. There are simply too many yummy pre-made options to worry about that part of entertaining!

Beautifully arranged flowers on your buffet table are the final ingredient to a lovely presentation.  For me, this is the most enjoyable part.  I love arranging flowers and seeing how they bring the table to life.  There are so many color combinations and styles to choose from.  Let your imagination run wild!

So, try to let go and use the resources available to you in your community.  You might find that you will be entertaining more and have more fun doing it!

  1. Fantastic ideas and presentation! Love how those berries look in the white bowls. I've been thinking of starting to collect white serving pieces and now I'm thinking I need some little white bowls like you have here! So true about having wonderful food readily available and all it takes it putting it out in a pleasing manner like you've done. We take turns doing coffee weeks at work and I need to rethink how I do mine! Thanks for the inspiration!
