Making a Whimsical Fabric Flower Wreath

I am back from my mini-vacation to Florida that I took last week.  (I think I may have told you about it.)  It was great to get out of the cold and rainy/snowy weather of the Northeast and enjoy the sun for a few days!  We truly enjoyed our time in Naples but, unfortunately, it is back to real life again.  And, guess what!  They are forecasting snow yet again for tomorrow!!  Like I said, real life---smack in the face!

Oh well, as they say, "All good things must come to an end."  At least, I am back and can finish the craft I started before I left.

The new craft idea all started at my garden club meeting last month where we made napkin rings with cardstock and the cutest fabric flowers.  While I was making my napkin rings I kept thinking that I liked the look of the fabric flowers.  They were so pretty and dainty.  I wanted to find a way to use a mass amount of them in another application.

The idea I came up with was a wreath.  Not overly creative but, I thought it would be pretty, especially for Spring.  So, I purchased a few supplies from Micheal's and started designing the wreath in my head.

I purchased :
 A pressed cardboard wreath form
The adorable fabric flowers (2 packages)
Pearl embellishments for the centers of the flowers (2 packages)
And lots and lots of hot glue!

As it turned out, planning was not really necessary.  I simply started randomly gluing the flowers onto the wreath form and things started to take shape.  To make the wreath full it is best to place two different flowers on top of each other and glue together, then glue to the wreath form.
At first I would do a little section and add the pearl centers immediately.  As I went along, it seemed ridiculous to do that because I would be going over the pearls with other flowers, filling in the blank spots.  I decided adding the pearls at the end was the best plan of action to take.  I would have run out of pearls if I had not realized this adjustment early on and it truly would have been a waste.
As mentioned, there really was no rhyme nor reason to my plan as it turned out.  The fabric flowers simply coordinated together all on their own.  I eyeballed the wreath every now and then and made sure I hadn't put too many of the same colored flowers in one area.

Here was the wreath before I added all the pearl centers.

I also decided to add a few bigger white fabric flowers to break up all the pastel colors and also to give the wreath a kind of "bow" to dress it up a little.

The pearl centers really add much to the overall look of the wreath.

 Here we go...the finished wreath...maybe...
I am deciding if I should add a ribbon or not.  The verdict is still out on that one!  Maybe I will make the ribbon removable.  We'll see ;).
As I said, I just LOVE these fabric flowers.  Aren't they perfect for Easter and Spring?  I am going to have to see where I might be able to place my new wreath in my Easter decor.  I'm sure I will find a spot. I do really like how it turned out, if I do say so myself :).
