Welcome, all! Yet another Nor'easter came rolling through Massachusetts yesterday and into the night. Aside from some sizable tree limbs down, 13+ inches of snow and a short power outage, we fared pretty well. The storm had been forecasted for days so, on Tuesday I headed out to Michael's to find something creative to do while I expected to be housebound. As it turned out, the storm didn't get into full swing until nearly suppertime so, I was able to get out in the morning and do a few errands.
However, since I had taken the time to go to Michael's, shopped and paid for the supplies, I felt I should work on my craft in the afternoon even if I hadn't been totally housebound all day.
I wasn't extremely inspired on my trip to the Michael's, unfortunately. I had walked and walked around the store searching for just the right thing to jump out at me. Nothing really did but, I did find a bin of clearance ribbons and trims and decided to try to make an Easter wreath out of the conglomeration. I purchased a cardboard wreath frame: one like I used last year to make a spring wreath. If you'd like to see that wreath and that process, you can see it here.
Step One to making the wreath was to wrap white ribbon around the cardboard frame to cover up the cardboard color of the wreath. I hot glued the ribbon at the beginning and the end of the wrapping to hold it in place.
Step Two was to wrap this frilly pink trim over the white ribbon with approximately a 1 to 1 1/4 inch gap between the ribbon. I glued at the beginning and end of this ribbon also.
Step Three was to wrap two different green ribbons (one pom-pom ribbon and one textured ribbon) around the wreath in the open spaces between the frilly ribbon.
This is the official kick-off to my Easter decorating. I seem to be starting with simple and clean.
I had some of the pom-pom trim leftover and decided to add it to the montage~

Here is the wreath at this point in the process.
Unfortunately, I began to get "in the zone" and forgot to take photos of the next few steps so I am going to have to walk you through them :).
Step Four was to hot glue the various colored pom-poms I had purchased at Michael's around the wreath visually placing them in the spots I thought looked best. I found the pom-poms also in the clearance bin.
Step Five was to place these felt bunny stickers intermittently all around the wreath and hot glue them in place.
Step Six came as a surprise because after hot gluing the bunny stickers to the wreath I felt something was missing and I did not feel the wreath was as full as it could be. So, I wrapped the pink pom-pom trim around the wreath, as well, trying to place it in areas that would be pleasing to the eye while not interfering with the pom-poms and bunny stickers already in place.
This was the wreath before I glued a ribbon hoop to the back for hanging. It was here I decided to name this wreath the "Hoppin' Down the Bunny Trail Wreath". The bunny at the bottom right seemed to be taking off for parts unknown. I tried to fix him later but, I'm not sure I did completely. I guess he will simply add some interest to the over all look of the wreath :).
I tried hanging the wreath over this twig wallhanging in the living room but, didn't really like the look of it there.
So next I decided to create a mini Easter vignette in the corner of the dining room.

I might add an Easter egg or two to the whole mix. We'll see. This is always a work in progress for me. I finally get things looking just the way I like and then the holiday is over and it's on to the next holiday or season!
At least this little craft kept me busy during the snowstorm and it has inspired me to get moving on other Easter decorations. Of course, the weather has been no help, at all in that respect!!!
Hope it's dry and warm in your neck of the woods !
