Christmas Decorating Ideas and Vignettes from Seasons Past

Hey, all!  Thanksgiving is approaching and I am thinking of getting out the Christmas boxes from the attic and starting to decorate the house for the holidays. In the meantime, I thought I would gain inspiration from my past work, and I was hoping you might, as well.  Let's see!

So, the harvest decorations will be coming down this weekend and slowly I will be putting up the Christmas ones.  I have a few photos from my old house, mainly because this will be only my second Christmas here in my "new" house where I will be decorating.  The first year we moved in a few days before Christmas so, other than a fake tree, I was decoration-free.  It was an odd year.  Thankfully, the kids filled in the gaps at their homes so, all was well~

I will start off with some outdoor designs and go from there.

Here was a front door design at my old home in Groton.  I loved flanking the front entry with greens and etc.

This was the side deck of that same house.

I had done a wreath workshop that year, so I had an abundance of greens and tried to use all of them!

See what I mean.  This antler was one I found in our yard.  We always had (and still have) an abundance of deer, as well.

I find myself filling all areas of the house with greens and bows and other materials to add to the festive feel of the holidays.

Also, see what I mean about the greens?!

One more :)

Moving inside, I have always loved this photo, so I wanted to share it again.

The Christmas tree is always an important part of my decorating.  I usually have two trees.  Last year, in the new house, we had three :)!

This wreath was one that I made, and it has followed its way to the new home.

Now onto some vignettes.  These are ones I did at the old home, also.

A tray of tags~  Just some fun!

A tin village

A table setting

One last nostalgic photo and then I will share a few from last Christmas.

A not-so-pretty tree that I was able to make pretty...or at least I thought so.  Haha!

A mirror vignette

And the dining room/entry filled with lights!

I hope you have enjoyed this trip down memory lane.  I also hope you have been inspired and are excited to start your own holiday decorating soon.

Happy Weekend!!!
