Hi everyone! I thought I would share my fall-decorated sitting room with you all today before I moved onto Thanksgiving and/or Christmas. Halloween is in the rear-view mirror. I know this because the squirrels have annihilated the pumpkins on my front step and am actually OK with that. Let them have fun and fill up their tummies as I think about how I am going to decorate the step for Christmas. Thankfully, I have no fear of squirrels as I show you the sitting room ;-).
Here is the room as you enter the front door and turn right.
My goal was to add touches of fall to all corners of the room while not overpowering it.
Of course, I do not change everything about the room. I simply incorporate fall touches here and there.
This room has a natural fallish feel anyway.
Fall Vignettes
As I circle the room, hopefully, you notice some of these touches.
The garland on the mantel was one that I found at HomeGoods. I love it because it is quick and easy and changes the whole look of the mantel. Immediately, the fireplace looks like fall. I can use it for Thanksgiving also.
A few fall-themed blankets for the firepit are stored in this wire basket on the fireplace hearth. In reality, we cannot use the firepit outside right now. It has been very dry in our area, and we have been experiencing brush fires almost every day. The blankets are pretty though~
Adding candles to the mix brings in some ambiance, as well.
Here we have the view into the room from the kitchen. This room is a great place to read or to do a sudoku. That is what I use it for most of the time. My hope has always been that it would be a place to visit with guests. For some reason, we always end up in the kitchen or the family room. Oh well, I still enjoy reading in there :).
I do love autumn and the colors it brings so we'll see how quickly I go to start decorating for Christmas. Haha!
Have a Great Rest of Your Week!
Please note: I have not been compensated in any way for writing this post. Just sharing my thoughts and ideas~
