Inspiration From Valentine's Past

With Valentine’s Day a mere three weeks away, I thought it would be fun to put some inspiration out there into the atmosphere.  These ideas are ones I previously created over the years.  Presenting them now is to hopefully get the creative juices flowing, yours and mine :).  I have new ideas coming soon but, until then here are a few that might help you get ready for the holiday as we move toward February.

You will see that my Valentine flower arrangements are different from the traditional red rose variety.  While I love a dozen or so red roses for Valentine’s Day, I like to experiment with the colors of the “season”, not to mention I love the variety of flowers available, as well.  I also understand that not all people can afford red roses, especially on Valentine’s Day.  (They up the prices you know.)  Therefore, you will see that I often make unconventional floral arrangements for Valentine’s Day.  I enjoy the process.

Here, I created a setting for a Valentine snack time.  I am not a tea drinker but I love the idea of a fancy tea/coffee gathering.

Here is a reminder that a little gift in a little gift bag along with a little flower arrangement

can make a wonderful Valentine gift and make someone very happy.

Flowers and chocolates, how can you go wrong?

This was how I decorated the front door of my old home in Groton, MA one February.  I do miss that beautiful front door.

Here is an example of how you can decorate the center of your table with a multiple of items
and only a small number of flowers for Valentine’s Day. The impact can still be large.

I like the heart placemats.  I have got to go figure out where I stored them :).

Here is an example of one of my unconventional Valentine flower arrangements.  It is small and perfect for a grandparent or friend.

And another~. This arrangement was made with grocery store flowers.  Simple and easy.

This is another arrangement but, this one is super special because it is a puppy arrangement.  Isn't it the cutest?!

You can never have too many felt Valentine hearts.  They are an immediate Valentine decoration.

A Heart Wreath is a must in February, as well.

Taking a cookie decorating class in February, as I once did
(not the best student but a fun time nonetheless ) is a great option in the middle of the winter
to get you through the cold season.

Finally, you don't have to receive (or give) only red roses to make Valentine's Day special.  Sometimes tulips and mini carnations can do the trick too.

Stay tuned for more Valentine ideas coming up.
