A Bouquet for a Bouquet (Wine That Is)

Hi everyone.  It has been a busy week getting ready for Easter and other things so, I have gotten behind schedule with my blogging.  I hope you won't mind if I go back into the archives and re-post this story.  I was proud of coming up with this handy gift idea myself, one that just happened to incorporate floral design, too.  If you haven't seen it before, I hope you will enjoy this post.  If you have, maybe you will enjoy reading it again.  And oh, Happy Easter!  Enjoy your day!

Hi there!  Happy August, All!  I am always trying to think of new ways to decorate or display gifts, especially hostess gifts. Wine is a popular hostess gift and today I am showing you an easy and fun way to totally change up the tradition of bringing wine to a gathering or event.

In my floral design work, I often come in contact with materials that can be used in many ways.  Here are two such products.  One is a floral tube, usually used to keep individual blossoms hydrated while being incorporated into a floral arrangement that doesn't have another water source.  The other is floral wire which can be used in so many ways I can't begin to count.  It is very flexible and easy to manipulate anyway you would like.  This floral wire came from the Dollar Store so, this idea is inexpensive too!

So, we have the floral tube and floral wire, now we need a wine bottle.  Of course, you can choose any one you'd like.  I happen to like the shape and size of this bottle because it was large enough to not be overwhelmed by the flowers I wanted to use.

Next, I took the floral wire and bent it to fit around the neck of the bottle.  I used a pencil to make the end curly-q's and the floral tube itself to make the shape of the holder for the flowers.

I hope you can see how I bent the wire to fit the tube and to make a pretty design, as well.

I picked flowers from my garden because they were handy and I thought they would give a natural and wildflower look to my gift.  However, you can easily buy some grocery store flowers and achieve a similar look.

By making the wire loosely fit around the neck of the bottle, the whole bouquet holder can be removed easily.

You can see that there is not a ton of room for flowers in the floral tube but enough to make the arrangement interesting.  A single large blossom would work well, also.

So what can I say?  I think this is pretty adorable and the great thing is--this gift idea doesn't take a lot of skill, time or money to do but, it adds a touch of sophistication and whimsy all at the same time when it's done!  And, just think how nice the wine bottle will look on your host's table!

I think giving little gifts is always fun.  They have the ability to add a little joy to life.  I will be showing you some other examples of little gifts in the near future but until then, I hope you are enjoying your summer as much as I am enjoying mine :).
