The Wedding Journey Continues: Delivery and Setting Up

So the journey continues with the delivery of the bridal party bouquets and the set-up of the ceremony site. I was going to show all of my set-up and delivering photos in one post but, as it turns out, there really are too many for just one post so, I thought it best to create two posts.  I hope you agree.

Well, here they are as promised...the bridesmaid bouquets.  They were petite, the size of a large nosegay.  I just loved them!  I thought they were so pretty!  And, the colors...weren't they great?!

Each bouquet had pink dahlias, pink and white standard roses, pink garden roses, white ranunculus and blushing bride protea.  I was lucky to find the blushing bride protea at the flower market when I picked up the flowers I had ordered.  I just happened upon them. Usually, the "blushing bride" is only available in June and July, or at least that's what I had been told.  I thought it was just gorgeous and great as a last minute addition to the bouquets.  What a fun surprise!

You can see a garden rose here.  Don't you love the ruffling of the flower and the green center?

The bride's lovely bouquet was just about to be delivered to the Bride's Room at The Commons 1854 in Topsfield, Massachusetts.  That is the room in which the bride and her bridesmaids get ready. The "Commons" is such a lovely venue.  It is a picture-perfect place to have a wedding.  I had done the flowers for a wedding here back in December.  Different time of year but still spectacular. You can see that wedding here.
The stem of the bride's bouquet was first wrapped in ivory ribbon, then re-wrapped with champagne-colored tulle and finished with four pearl pins.  In the above photo you can see the lovely brooch that was a nice addition to the bouquet also.

This is a replica of the groom's boutonniere.  I had forgotten to take a picture of it on the day of the wedding and decided to make another one to photograph the next day.  The groom's boutonniere was slightly different from this one, however.  His had exposed stems at the bottom and did not have a tulle bow in the front, only the ribbon and tulle.

Next, it was on to the ceremony courtyard.  As you may have seen in my earlier post, I had made four of these aisle markers.  Two were to go at the beginning row of the aisle and two were to go at the last row, the place where the family would sit.

 Simple but, beautiful
The colors of the flowers looked nice against the pure white ceremony chairs.

I thought the aisle (row) markers brought a simple elegance to the ceremony courtyard.  Thankfully, it was a clear and beautiful day and they could be used and enjoyed outside.

Next week I will finish the journey (until I receive the professional photograph, yay!) with the delivery and set up of the cocktail and dinner reception areas.

  2. We've been to 4 weddings this summer and when I look at the photos I took afterwards I see most are of the flowers! I just love beautiful wedding flowers. These are just stunning. I love all of them but the aisle markers are just perfect, some we have seen have been a little too small to make impact, these are perfect.
