Finishing Up an Old Wreath Project

Hi! How are you doing?  Are you living in a state that is easing restrictions?  Unfortunately, I am not.  Here in Massachusetts I think it is going to be a while before we will see the light of day concerning the coronavirus.  Since I have a lot of time on my hands I have decided to finish a project that I only half completed last spring.  Last year I bought all the supplies I needed to make two hoop silk flower wreaths.  I intended them for the double French doors of my florist studio shed. I never got around to making the second one and they never made it to my studio...until now :).

Since I already wrote a post about making the first wreath I won't bother you with the making of  the second one.  If you would like to see the first wreath making process, you can see it here.

Here are the supplies needed to make the wreaths. Thankfully, I had purchased enough of everything necessary to complete both wreaths last year because it would have been hard to find the same materials in this present shopping climate.

As I began to make the second wreath I was surprised at the care it took to make it exactly the same as the first one.  There were some slight variations in the picks and silk flowers I used so, I had to make minor adjustments to the wreath as I worked on it.

The wreath on the left is the one I made this week.  Once they were hung up together, I did think they looked close to being twins.  I was happy about that.

Since January I have placed two undecorated grapevine wreaths on these doors. I wasn't sure at first if I liked the change of the spring hoop wreaths.
Sometimes I need to live with something new for a while before I settle in on my final opinion.

It didn't take long at all for me to like the change, however. The bright spring colors of the new wreaths became a welcome change to the monochromatic colors of winter.

And, it is fun seeing the shed changing and getting ready for spring and summer projects.  Not sure what those are going to be since all of my weddings and events scheduled for the spring and early summer have been canceled or postponed :/.   It is nice having the shed to play in, anyway~

Spring is sprouting all over the place!

I am happy I finally dragged out the bag of wreath supplies and finished the project.

After all, I can't say I am too busy these days.  No excuses :).

Besides, these wreaths are kind of sweet~

I hope you have a few hobbies stashed away, too.  They might take the edge off of some of these long days.
